Introduction

Electrical Engineering is entrenched with the discovery of basic principles of electricity back in early 18th century. The field turned to an identifiable profession in late 19th century after commercialization of the power generation, transmission, distribution, electric telegraph and telephone. Today, it wraps a wide range of subfields including electronics, computer, power, telecommuni-cations, control systems, radio frequency, and signal processing to name a few.
 
Research followed by development of unbelievable commercial products to ease life of human has made electrical engineering the first choice of students around the globe. It's amazing ability to merge allied fields has given rise to many hybrid disciplines which ultimately has broadened its scope and has resulted in a variety of choices for students entering in the field.
 
Department of Electrical Engineering is an emergent feature of the Institute. The department preserves eminence of education and carries out diverse tasks for worldwide endorsement. Faculty of electrical engineering deeps on updating curriculum as per market requirements and offers high quality courses to prepare individuals who can amicably meet modern technological challenges. The program of studies enables us to prepare the team of future young engineers who can realize their innovative ideas for the prosperity of humankind.
 
The objective of the Electrical Engineering Program at the Institute is to produce graduates who will attain careers and higher education that ultimately lead to leadership roles in academia, industry and government in areas of rapidly advancing interdisciplinary technologies related to renewable energy, power systems, telecommunications, solid-state and information technology.
 
The program prepares students for either graduate study within the country & abroad or employment in public & private organizations   related   to   research   &   development and services. It inspires them to undertake careers and professional practices that provide an opportunity to address the pressing technological needs of society. The same is accomplished by building the core curriculum to provide a broad and rigorous exposure to the fundamental concepts of electrical engineering. The program strives to maintain a balance between classroom lectures, laboratory & design experience, & emphasizes the problem formulation, system-design, and solving skills that are essential to any engineering discipline. The other purpose of the program is to develop self-reliance, creativity, teamwork ability, professional ethics, communication skills, and an appreciation of the importance of contemporary issues and lifelong intellectual growth in students.
