HOD

Prof. Dr. Tahir Imran Qureshi

Environmental Science has been recognized as the science of sustainable development on earth. It is an emerging science of interdisciplinary academic fields that integrate physical and biological sciences to the study of environment. Environmental scientists bring a systematic approach to the analysis of environmental problems. They work on subjects like understanding of earth processes, development of alternate energy systems, pollution control and mitigation measures, cleaner production, environmental management systems, natural resources management, solid waste management and global climatic changes among others.

Computer Science

Computer Science is the study of Computer and computational systems. Unlike electrical and computer engineers, computer scientists deal mostly with software systems, this includes their theory, design, development, and application.

Principal areas of study within computer science include artificial intelligence, big data analytics, computer networks, and their security, database systems, human-computer interaction, computer graphics and image processing, numerical analysis, the theory of programming languages, software engineering, bioinformatics, and theory of computing.

If you have studied computer science, you will have gained many technical and non-technical skills that are highly valued by employers, from leadership to programming. The increasing scope of computer science means you have plenty of choices in a wide range of highly specialized areas. These include financial organizations, management consultancy firms, software houses, communication companies, data warehouse centers, multinational companies, government agencies, universities, hospitals, etc.

Program Objectives

The department of Computer Science missions by pursuing the follwing Objectives:

Laboratories

Department has recently equipped following Five state of the art labs with modern equipment

  •   CS Lab01
  •   CS Lab02
  •   CS Lab03
  •   FYP Lab
  •   Research Lab

Facilities

The design of the Department of Computer Science in NFC-IET has been developed to provide both technologically advanced learning environments and inviting and comfortable interactive spaces. The goal of this project has been to promote collaborative interaction between students and faculty with public discussion of current computing science issues. Towards this end, the third floor of the ITC Building has been reconfigured to provide multiple, naturally lit technical laboratories, classrooms, student lobbies, and study spaces providing flexible open and inviting areas where students can engage in constructive exchanges and networking with peers, faculty, and the extended academic community. The Department of Computer Science Computing Sciences will promote both mastery of the leading technology of today and the collaborative teamwork skills necessary for tomorrow

Facilities in the labs are for better learning and to prepared them to fulfill the future job requirements. Following facilities are available in our lab:

  • Networking
  • Software Development
  • AI, Robotics
  • Access of Free Wifi
  • Highly Equipped computers
  • iMac Computers for research purposes
