About Dir Postgraduate

The Institute started the Post Graduate Studies Program in the year 2016. The program has been asserting very encouraging responses from aspirants since its inception. All the MS programs at the Institute are running with prior approval from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, and IET is only maintaining all the requirements of HEC to keep the program's validity at all times. The Program aims to educate and train next-generation science and engineering professionals. It provides students with an intellectual stimulus for advanced study courses. The Institute emphasizes creative thinking, problem-solving, and research findings for academics and industrial applications. The Institute specially designs curriculums to enable graduates to become adept in developing and applying research techniques and in interpreting information via data collection derived from research.

Mission

The mission of the postgraduate programs at NFC Institute of Engineering and Technology, Multan is to foster advanced learning, innovative research, and professional excellence in engineering, technology, and applied sciences. Through a commitment to academic integrity, critical inquiry, and industrial collaboration, the programs aim to develop competent researchers, scholars, and professionals capable of contributing to national development and addressing emerging global challenges with creativity, postgraduate programs include Master in Computer Science, Electrical Power Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Business Administrative.  Along with Master Programs, PhDs is also offers in Electrical and Chemical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• To chalk-out and manage for advertisement of fresh admissions annually.
• To ensure that all the academic record of students is checked and verified by the Departments concerned.
• To coordinate and ensure that all the students who have applied for admissions of MS/MPhil& PhD are examined through the Departmental General/Subject Test equal to NTS (GAT/GRE) test as per scheduled program.
• To maintain a database to allow admissions and prepare enrollment lists of qualified students and maintain fees records of enrolled students.
• To ensure the smooth running of classes of Coursework and conduct of Semester Examinations in all the Institutes/Departments.
• To ensure research proposals, coordinate to incorporate the recommendations of Scrutiny Committees for allocation of supervisors are maintained as per policies.
• To prepare the agenda of Advanced Studies & Research Board (ASRB) for getting approval of Research Plans/Synopsis of researchers as per recommendations of the Scrutiny Committees of the Institutes/Departments headed by Deans of the Faculties.
• To manage for issuance of approval letters to the scholars to start their research work on approved topics.
• To manage for getting panel of experts from various approved/assigned Research Supervisors.
• To coordinate with all the Deans of Faculties for holding of MS/MPhil/PhD Seminars.
• To manage for appointment of Local External Examiners for Evaluation of MS/MPhil Dissertation & Viva Voce and 03 Foreign External Examiners for Evaluation of PhD Dissertation and 02 Local Experts/Examiners for conduct of Open Defense and Viva Voce.
• To collect fees i.e Admission fee, Semester Fee, 2nd year fees (after approval of Research Plans), Plagiarism/Evaluation fee, etc.
• To coordinate with Directorate of ORIC for checking the thesis through anti plagiarism software as per directives and policy of Higher Education Commission to maintain the quality assurance.
• To initiate for allowing required extension in research up to the maximum period of study after strong justification of Scrutiny Committee on the recommendations of Supervisors, Chairpersons and Deans of Faculties.
• To prepare Agenda items of Advanced Studies & Research Board (ASRB) with the collaboration of Controller of Examinations for getting recommendation for award of MS/MPhil/PhD degrees to scholars.
• To monitor matters of academic quality including writing thesis.
• To manage the matters related with postgraduate studies and implement Rules and Regulations.
