Engr. Dr. Safdar Raza, currently serves as Head of the Electrical Engineering Department at NFC Institute of Engineering & Technology (NFC IET), Multan. He holds a PhD in Power Systems Engineering from the University of Malaya (2016), an MS in Electrical Engineering from COMSATS Islamabad (2012), and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from BZU Multan (2009). His research expertise centers on distributed generation, islanding detection, power quality, and renewable energy systems, with proficiency in PSCAD, RSCAD (RTDS), MATLAB, machine learning methods.
Dr. Raza has also served as Head of the Electrical Engineering Technology Department (2021-2024), Coordinator of the MS Power Systems program (2018-present), and Deputy Director of the Quality Enhancement Cell (2022-present). He has authored and co-authored numerous publications in ISI-indexed Tier-1 journals including IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, Energy Conversion and Management, IET Renewable Power Generation, Applied Sciences, and Ain Shams Engineering Journal, and contributed a book chapter in Innovations in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He has participated in various IEEE and international conferences and secured research funding from different agencies.
His academic career includes appointments as Assistant Professor at NFC IET (2017-present), Research Associate at University of Malaya (2014-2017), Lecturer at COMSATS Lahore (2012-2014) and BZU Multan (2009-2010), as well as technical roles in the Energy Department Punjab and Islamabad (2010-2012). He has received the University of Malaya High Impact Research PhD Scholarship and Talent Scholarship from the Government of Pakistan. He has supervised over 35 postgraduate and 48 undergraduate students. He has delivered workshops on Outcome-Based Education and modern teaching methodologies
